Black Reparations? Heroes vs Slaves?

Watching a feel good movie. Happy ending!   Love triumphs!   My favorite.   Joni Mitchell is the theme song. Donald Trump makes a cameo appearance.   And the X, Y or G generation that we were makes the right decision.

And then I see where we are and wonder how the heck did we screw it up so badly! Because in the end, it is our fault.   No one else’s.   We – are to blame.

Idealists.   We were going to make everything perfect.   We were going to conquer judgment and injustice.   And yet, everything we believed was a lie and instead we brought in – fascism.   The most heinous ideology imaginable.

How does one go from Joni Mitchell to Fascism?

The best man at my wedding, the jock, the extreme skier, golfer, jock, is now a transgendered woman.   My ex-husband is afraid of his own shadow for fear he will contract CoVid and die.   Pictures abound of young people who have mutilated their appearance as though this self mutilation will somehow purge them of their self hatred and dark dreams.

Our president is an Alzheimer patient, his wife props him up like a demon puppet, and our government delights in death and pedophilia.

How does one go from Joni Mitchell to Satanism?

And the fault? It is ours.   We are to blame.   Perhaps they played us, but we allowed the play. Afraid.  We are – to Blame.

It is said that John Lennon was coerced into making the song “Imagine”.   And it was afterward that he tried to extricate himself from the Cabal that owned him.   He sought to re-establish himself in his faith.   But he knew too much.   And thus this is what happens when a person attempts to distance oneself from the Cult.  They are annihilated.

I treasure these movies. Happy endings. Love wins.   Ideology reigns.

But they are twenty years old now.   And none of the ‘actors’ are real.   They are simply figments of imagination. Illusions.

The loves that I embrace, Debussy, Hemingway, Twain, the joys have been deluded into reams of self deprication.   I am called to denigrate myself for no reason other than the sins of others who have offended the 6%.   And the argument is so incredibly absurdly alien…   The notion that I, the you, that we, have perpetrated anything devastating on a people of color is not even worthy of discussion.

I am – a child of God.   I hope you are too. But if you are not. That is your devil to tend to.   Not mine.

There is only ONE outcome of this black ME-ME Movement.  If ‘you’ choose to prostrate yourself, do so without demanding that anyone else follow your self deprecation.   If your choose to destroy your self person, do so alone, and stop demanding that everyone else follow blindly in your depth of Hell.

Personally, I will turn up the volume on Debussy.   I will advocate for ALL.   I will not be your slave of ideology.   My faith, my tower, my God does not honor your deprived human Will.

If you choose to pay reparations – so be your finances.

If you choose to bow and scrape – so be your honor and integrity.

If you choose to judge and demean – so be your self.

But sirs and madams, do not for a second believe that your self deprecation is mine.   Do not impose your disgust, your lack of respect, your self hatred, on anyone other than your self.   And I will accept your self disgust, just as I will hail my own honor in repeal.

I find great healing in music.   Particularly classical – although I have a special place for Enya.   She brought me great healing in a time of immeasurable strife.   And I know we each have our stories. Each are amazingly impactful.   What lies behind closed doors.

I used this phrase with my boys when they felt slighted by a friend.   “Who knows what horrors they endure that they could never tell you…”

MY middle son’s friend was whipped brutally.   He remembers the screams that reverberated the house when once he was privy.

My neighbor who found her son dead on the street from a horrific car accident at age 16.

A boy I grew up with who fell from a high ladder at his dad’s factory and became a quadriplegic.

A friend whose son was blown up in Jordan. Body parts.

My nephew riddled with cancer.

And you – you want to argue slavery and reparations from 200 years ago and that’s your focus?

What about the 5 -13 year old girls trafficked for politicians?

What about the high school boy who commit suicide or the 14 year old girl who OD’d?   Yesterday…

But you want to focus on slave reparations for slaves you can’t identify, or slave owners you can’t name, because they suffered along with countless white men, women and children that you don’t want to acknowledge???

Stories.   Brutality.

Why should we take what has no color and focus securely on a color code?   A fake story?   Convoluted.

I think I will choose Chad Lawson – whose piano music opens the vagrancies of all without a color code or a 200 year, 5000 year punitive.

What about the man who has a stroke and loses everything?

The woman whose life is upended in a contentious narcissistic divorce?

The Veteran who needs new prosthetics because some imbecilic vagrant stole his?

The café Owner whose business was torched because it was located in the wrong city?   His life, his family left with nothing.

What about Jake Gardner!   A man who gave everything for his country in the military but commit suicide when the preposterous DA in Nevada sought to make a vagrant example of him for attempting to protect his BUSINESS?   He did NOTHING wrong.   He was a good person.   He DESERVED so much more.

Don’t EVER Forget!  Jake Gardner Is and Should Be the Hero we Honor.

The 18 year old boy put into solitary confinement for participating in the DC protests.   His life is ruined. His family devastated.   His fate still inconclusive while illegal rapists, pedophiles, and thieves are allowed to have rampant range of our country!

HOW DARE YOU.

HOW DARE YOU challenge me for slave reparations from 200 years ago.

You can’t even muster an ounce of compassion for the hideous heinous crimes perpetrated today. Why would I even consider anything you can’t even prove or distinguish from 200 years ago?

Jake Gardner holds a special place in my heart.   To be sure.   I never knew him, but I listened to him, I paid attention to who he was, what he did for our country, his sacrifices, his desires that were without an ounce of selfish ideal.   He epitomized the boy, the man, who I would and will always value, respect, honor and wish we could replicate a hundred thousand fold.

But blacks want to demand reparations for ‘themselves’ not because they did anything worthwhile, not because they exhibited honor and integrity and sacrifice, but because ‘whites’ were to blame.   Never mind that their African “Brothers’ Sold them. Never mind that’ their African Brother’s Owned Them.   Never Mind that their African Brothers sold White men, Women and Children.   Somehow that is obliterated.

Me.

I think I’ll honor Jake Gardner.

I think I’ll honor Ashli Babbitt.

I think I’ll honor the men and women of whatever color who sacrificed for the cowards.   Who gave their lives for the ungrateful.   Who died for the self-entitled.

RIP Jake Gardner!!!  You were truly a good person…

HISTORY of Black Racism and Slavery

The World at large would have us believe that ‘racism’ is born and bred among white men – particularly in the United States and to a lesser extent Europe.   But racism has a deeply ancient character that is likely much more colorful than it is white.

In its purest form racism was simply culture division.   It is widely practiced in Muslim countries today wherein any ‘foreigner’ is paid a low wage to perform tedious labor. Historically, this was common amongst Greeks, Egyptians, Africans, Phoenicians, Romans, Asians, Indians, etc…   In times of antiquity it was called tribalism and referred to anyone who was outside of the tribe representative of a particular city or state as inferior.

In Fact it is believed that slavery was actually created by Blacks as a source of free labor dating to the Akkadian King, Sargon The Great, in 2300 BC.

All foreigners were considered enemies as they did not abide by the cultural and legal norms of the ‘existing tribe’.   Slavery was a custom.   And Africa in particular enjoyed that custom for centuries as a means of expanding wealth among black African traders.

Contrary to popular myth, American settlers didn’t capture slaves, they were bought from Black African slave traders who sold people for money and had no prejudice who might be the buyer.   Sometimes those black African slave traders were selling white people captured from small villages or ships.   It was a common economic practice that had been in existence for centuries and blacks were quite demonstrative in this engagement.

Slaves within Africa were an economic status symbol and boys were frequently given as slave gifts – creating a ‘you owe me one’ mentality among the wealthy elite blacks.   Slaves were used for a variety of purposes; as chattel, as debt payment, as military conscripts, and as human sacrifices among various tribes throughout what are now Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Ivory Coast, etc…

Over 1.25 million Europeans were captured by African pirates and sold as slaves to North Africa and the Ottoman Empire.   Iberian Jews known as Radhanites captured people from pagan and Christian cites across Europe and sold them to Muslim countries.   White Circassions of Russian heritage were sold to Muslim countries.   Ottomans originated the conscript of Christian galley slavery. Somali was notorious for capturing and enslaving ethnic black Bantu people. Ethiopia enslaved women – and only abolished it in the mid 20th century at the insistence of the United States.   Ugandan royalty historically rewarded bravery by the proffering of a slave as a gift.

It is believed Muslims trafficked upwards of 17-20 million slaves between 1500 and 1900.  Today there are upwards of 9-10 million slaves in Africa – the highest concentration of any country in the world!

Treatment of slaves within Africa and the Middle East was brutal.   Accounts are similar to the concentration camps of the Nazi’s whereby those who were no longer physically viable were simply shot, hung, or stabbed to death.   The number of Africans enslaved by Africans increased dramatically in the 1800’s as did the brutality toward them.

When America first employed slaves the demand created a quite lucrative business for West African Empires which became wealthy from the resulting trade. Today, Africa counts as the holding the world’s highest number of slaves estimated at just under 10 million.   Oddly, Democrats and African Americans seem to have absolutely no qualm with this statistic and instead focus on an imagined racist mantra in the United States.

Slaves were not always captured, selling one’s kin was also considered a common form of trade – all of which occurred well before America was discovered.

Yet, a simple Google search regarding slavery and racism reveals pages dedicated to American slavery – and completely ignores facts and truths behind its origination.

The largest conscripters today include: Mauritania, Sudan, Eritrea, Libya, Egypt and South Africa.   The main purpose is the trafficking of women and children primarily as sex slaves.

Does the US have a racist problem?

There are certainly ‘pockets’ of racism in the US – as there are in ALL countries across the globe including Africa where tribal racism and racism against whites continues unabated today.   White farmers in Africa have been brutally murdered for decades.   Many have had their land and agricultural property confiscated.   Unfortunately, these instances bring little sympathy, and even less recognition beyond a yawn as they are portrayed as justifiable for historical colonization. The instances became so radical that Russian President Putin offered free land to those affected with the single mandate that the land be used for agricultural purposes.

Was this racism?   Was it tribalism?   Was it a form of genocide?   Did the white people revolt and destroy villages and towns unabated?

The violence being perpetrated in the US under the guise of Black subjected to racism is so completely manifested as a ruse to incite disorder and chaos that it fans the flames of perverse hatred.

The Democrats not only understand this divisive division, they created it – not to preserve black integrity, but to destroy it.   If we are to destroy those historically connected to slavery in the US, there are numerous celebrities today who are descendants of slave owners including: Anderson Cooper, Ben Affleck, George Bush, Larry David, Richard Dawkins, John McCain, Jimmy Carter, FDR, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Rock, Morgan Freeman, Spike Lee, Blair Underwood, Don Cheadle, Joe Biden, – and the piece-de-resistance: Barack Obama AND Michelle Obama both had ancestors who were slave OWNERS!

Perhaps BLM should consider the demolition of the Obama Library as well as monetary reparations in their quest for denunciation all things racist…

But of course, the Obama’s get a pass, because “White Supremacy” is the causal factor even though Black Supremacy created racial and tribal divide centuries before America or Europe even existed.

EPSTEIN & SOROS: Legalize Prostitution to Save Child Trafficking…

In the midst of the Jeffrey Epstein sexual assault and pedophilia revelations that ensnare hundreds if not thousands of high profile people, Soros and his NGO’s are busily advocating for decriminalization of sex work throughout Africa, the US and South America.

One citation used Rhode Island to support the idea claiming that rape had been lowered significantly.   Prostitution was legal in Rhode Island between 1990 and 2009. During that time rape hit an all time peak in 2003 topping 505 reported cases.

Like gun laws, there appears to be absolutely no correlation, nothing to prove that legalizing the sex trade will have any positive impact on rape – and certainly not sex trafficking.

In the US, the average age of a girl entering street prostitution is – 12!   Children account for 36% of sex trafficking.   1.5 million children are trafficked every year. In 2007, Germany identified 689…crumbs.   Germany is considered a hub for bringing trafficked children to be ‘redistributed’, and for providing sexual prostitution.  Why? Because prostitution is legal and thus provides backdoors.

The UN is continually found to be complicit and yet there is no ramification.

So how will legal prostitution change that?

Epstein and his entourage were prime examples. They did not seek out prostitutes. They sought underage girls. Pedophilia is what they want. No one wants an over-used prostitute – they want young nubiles, virgins!   They want the girl to cry, to be petrified, to fear!   The Epstein’s in this world, and there are likely millions, don’t want a rough prostitute, they want angelic, they want domination over someone who cannot say ‘no’.

Wake up!

Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador are prime locations for abducting girls and boys for trafficking. Why? Because their parent’s sell them. Because poverty precludes sanity.   Because they can. These children are then exported to the US, the EU, and Canada.  The younger, the more valuable.

Rani Hong was abducted from his home in India at the age of 7 and sold to a couple in Canada under the guise of an ‘illegal adoption’.   In reality, he was their slave for anything and everything they demanded.   He didn’t go to ‘school’.   He didn’t have a life.

Legalizing prostitution would have zero impact on his life or the 1.5 million children trafficked each year.

After Germany legalized prostitution, according to Dr. Kraus, it has been disastrous.   Men no longer have any boundaries, there is no line drawn, and the assaults have escalated against prostitutes who are now seen as chattel, or worse.  In her words, prostitution is not about ‘sexual liberation’ as the left would have us believe, it is about money, pure and simple.   She provides statistics that in Germany a prostitute must ‘serve’ six men a day just to break-even in expenses.

And just as the mass immigration from Latin America was largely predicated on providing children for traffickers in the US, Germany’s mass immigration from Africa was likely a similar agenda. The difference? Merkel encouraged it and little to nothing is done to mitigate it.

So what would be accomplished by the Soros agenda for legal prostitution?

A market would be legitimized.   That would hugely expand the territory, and the $$$$.   But it would also open the door to lax oversight.   Twelve year old girls could be masked. And in reality it would likely increase sex trafficking, particularly of minors, given they represent the biggest money.  In reality, money is the only real game. In the world of Epstein, prostitution in ‘young people’ was justifiable.

When advertising legalized prostitution, the justification will remain ‘who is too young to matter’.     Given the market for young girls, and the fact that fake ID’s are a dime a dozen, and backrooms can easily house different tastes, given that the front door would now be ‘legal’, police would likely have little ability to even get a viable search warrant.

Decriminalizing prostitution has been shown to create an uptick in human trafficking given the age old phenomena of supply and demand. Demand would increase and the chattel would need replenishing.   Germany is a prime example. Prostitution was legalized and brothels needed slaves. They brought them in from India, Romania, and the Philippines.   According to a recent article in DW, “German customers can rent a child in the Philippines for an hour, who then has to do whatever they want in front of a webcam.”

It is estimated that modern slavery is a multi-billion dollar business ranking 3rd largest in the world and representing over 40 million victims.   And yet, somehow in the US we’re still debating and accusing white people of slave ownership dating 200-300 years ago by some possible distant relative – as in my fifth cousin 100 times removed. And in so doing, the real problem that exists today gets no attention, no grief, and no media.

Epstein and his entourage were pedophiles. But they could have simply gone to legal brothels… right?   They could have paid prostitutes.   But that’s not what they wanted.

Slavery Never Existed.

Apparently historians have decided that history needs some editing, specifically during the time period in which Egyptian Pharaohs used ‘slaves’ to build the temples and pyramids. Historians have decided that this is all a myth, that they weren’t really ‘slaves’, they were free laborers, conscripts, who were paid a wage and needed the work.   The basis for this shift is in the term ‘conscript’.   It is not unlike obligatory military service wherein housing and meals are provided in return for labor. Another term used to identify the laborers who built the pyramids is – civil servant. And civil servants require a ‘strong government’ body to … force them into slave labor.

Hmmm.

Is this some weird way of heralding in Social-Communism?

Of course there is the fact that a conscript in the military is not free to leave, as this would be considered AWAL, and grounds for court marshal, the terminology is rather obliquely conveyed to serve a purpose, albeit a strange one.

The entire basis of this new conclusion is the fact that a dozen intact skeletons were found in a shaft constructed of mud and brick behind the Giza pyramids. According to this conclusive evidence, historians conjecture that if they were slaves they would not have been buried, and they had to have been pyramid builders because their grave was behind a pyramid.

YIMINEE.

Interesting logic, not for its conclusion but for its absolute immature irrational thinking process.

Oddly, this same logic would seem not to apply to black slaves in Europe and the US who were buried, many with headstones and inscriptions.   Should we then conclude that the slaves in Europe, the white slaves of the Barbary Coast, and all slaves of history were not really slaves, but simply civil servants, laborers?

A friend shared with me that a man who is of black, white and Hispanic heritage believes that all white men should pay remuneration to all black men because of past slavery.   Of course, given that this man is partially white, wouldn’t his white part have to thus pay all black men?   And if we apply his remuneration logic, wouldn’t his black part have to pay all European whites for their Barbary Coast slave trade?   And given that Spain was considered a pioneer of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, wouldn’t this man’s Hispanic heritage make him libel to his black heritage and all black men?

He’d go broke.

Of course all of this is on the heels of the new agenda in which all white men are brutalized as having ‘white privilege’ for which they must be made to suffer and curl into a ball of shame.    But shame isn’t the real agenda, the real agenda is redistribution of $$$$.   A stage is being set for a special white privilege tax to be levied, lawsuits to erupt, and chaos to ensue.

So let’s do what the historians have done regarding the Egyptian slavery – let’s simply redefine it as civil conscription, i.e. a necessary service in order to build agriculture which benefits everyone…

And women were not really property or chattel, they were laborers who were ‘persuaded’ to have more children so as to benefit society with their added labor and protection.

Problem solved!! Slavery never existed.

Racial Division in the US

A young AP Correspondent has written an article in which she laments how the scars of slavery and racism and segregation were all lifted – until Trump became President. And now they permeate our country in every nook and cranny, even the smallest of towns where there was once unity, as in North Carolina. She then continues her woe begone tale and mentions the Ku Klux Klan’s presence in this small town in the 1980’s… well before Trump. She talks about a woman being harassed and targeted for her color in the 1970’s. Well before Trump. What she doesn’t mention is the fact that the division didn’t just occur this year – in fact the division was throughout the Obama presidency, Reagan, Carter, Bush, Bush, Clinton, Carter, etc…

Few would argue that the Ku Klux Klan is a racist, bigoted, divisive, hate group. But they didn’t materialize suddenly when Trump became president, and in fact their origins have roots in Hillary’s household. Perspective. There are estimated to be about 3000 members of the KKK nationwide. That would represent .0009% of the total population.

This young Correspondent reiterates about the ‘scars of slavery’ that these people have endured and overcome… But slavery ended in the US in 1863, 154 years ago – or the equivalent of roughly 5-6 generations… or her great, great, great, grandfather. I don’t know much about my great, great, great, grandfather, but I imagine he suffered hardships and trials that have absolutely no effect on me today whatsoever.

Of course no weeping article would be complete without targeting ‘police brutality’. Websites abound on the brutality of US police citing the fact that every year some 100-1000 people are shot by police officers.   Of course, they fail to mention – why they are shot.  In the commission of a crime?   Here’s a great headline: “Over 5000 civilians killed by police since 9-11”. Yes, and 90-99% of those civilians were brandishing a weapon, and/or committing a crime, and/or fleeing a crime.  Wait.  Isn’t that what cops do?

During the Obama administration the citing of police brutality reached its peak.   Odd.   Racial divisiveness was propagated and reached its peak. During his administration there were 40% MORE protests than the previous administration, MORE than the number of protests during the previous 20 years, and just over the total for the previous 30 years!  I’d say that was pretty divisive!

A list has been compiled which delineates the police shootings and why. Armed robberies, carjackings, stabbings, sexual misconduct with a child, kidnapping, the list goes on. Does this negate the fact that there have been issues of police brutality? No. It simply provides perspective. Death rates by gun in the US average 10 per 100,000, or roughly 33,000 per year. Over 60% are suicides, and approximately 10-12,000 are homicides. Of those homicides, it is estimated 50-75% are gang related.   If we eliminated gangs, our homicide rate would be less than half…

Perspective. Homicide by gun – 10,000. Homicide by abortion – 1 million. In fact the rate of deaths by guns is ranked 23rd out of 33 causal factors with ‘struck by lightening’ last. As for police brutality – the numbers would be less than ‘struck by lightening’.

Blame. Certainly not a new game, but its pervasive use has grown exponentially. Blame Trump. Blame whites. Blame white males. Poor Native Americans. Poor blacks, always the victim. Really? If we really want to blame whites, then we should blame Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Spain, and The Netherlands – because that’s where all the American whites originated some 500 odd years ago. Let’s blame the Europeans!

Not to leave out Australia – which was colonized by a bunch of thieves from the UK who then attempted to eradicate the Aboriginals through mass murders…and the introduction of smallpox. So lets blame the Brits!

And slavery? Slavery was common in Europe during the Dark Ages. But it didn’t originate there. It is known to have existed in 3500 BC in the Egyptian, Arab, Chinese, Babylonian (Persians), Nubian (blacks and Egyptians) and even the pre-Columbia cultures of North America, which would include the Aztecs and Native Americans. So let’s blame slavery on the peoples that created it – everyone!

While this sloppy article attempts to create a pool of sympathy for slaves, animosity toward whites, police, and Trump, it really simply opens Pandora’s Box and shows that the statistics, the facts, and history reveal that the real problems with society originated um, everywhere, by um, everyone, forever.

Princeton Slavery to Black Agenda

Princeton folds. Woodrow Wilson, is being beheaded and a bunch of idiotic privileged children are to blame. ARGHHH!

History cannot be eradicated no matter how hard you try. It is persistent. It is stubborn, and no matter what you might dislike about it, you have no power to change the facts.   So a bunch of overly spoiled elite children attending the prestigious school of Princeton which boasts a ‘racial diversity’ of 7%, well above the 4% of black youth entering colleges around the US, want to expel Woodrow Wilson from history, and Princeton is bowing to their demands.

Wilson was born in 1856. The Civil war was fought from 1861 to 1865, 150 years ago!   He was a part of the Confederacy as were 11 states including; Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina.   These states fought for slavery.   Headline: They lost. But if these bored, unimaginative, pompous students have their way, I suppose we should ask these states to succeed from the United States because of their Confederacy stance.

In fact, anyone who has any connection to these states must no longer be allowed to do business because they are obviously racist. Any relative of anyone who was a part of the confederacy should face civil penalties, a trial and a lashing. This law shall be in place for perpetuity. In addition, given that some blacks were slave owners as well, they too shall be subject to this law.

The first slave owner in US history was Anthony Johnson, a black man. Prior to Mr. Johnson’s assertions, indentured servants were forced to work for a period of seven years per a contract and then they gained their freedom, bought land, and ran farms. But when one of Johnson’s indentured servants reached the end of his term and left a free man to work elsewhere, Johnson sued the new employer and won the right to own his servants and indenture them for as long as he wanted. Thus slavery was BORN.

Halleluiah, slavery in the US was created by a black man.

This would mean that all descendants of Mr. Anthony Johnson should hereinafter be jailed and horse whipped… In 1860, 3000 blacks/Negroes living in New Orleans owned slaves which represented nearly 30% of the negroes that lived in the city!

In contrast to their white counterparts, most black slave owners owned upwards of 10 to 80+ slaves, while most whites owned 1 or 2 with a small percentage (1%) known as slave magnates who owned 50+.

Does this mean we must hunt down these black slave owners and erase their names from history?  Apparently a slew of university students would believe this is a proper agenda today.

But slavery was not merely a black conscription, white Irish prisoners were sold into the slave trade by James I, King of England in the early sixteen hundreds. White slaves were sold to Antigua and Montserrat where 70% of the population were Irish slaves. As a result of this slave trade, Irelands population went from 1.5 million to a mere 600,000 in one decade.   They were sold to New England, Jamaica, Barbados, and Virginia. And the practice wasn’t abolished until 1839. They worked the land for their black owners as well as their white owners.

The point of history is to learn the whole truth, not just selected bits and pieces edited and transcribed for a false premise and a false doctrine for perpetrating chaos and divide.

Moral:  The point is that slavery was not a racial agenda, it was an elitist agenda that dates back thousands of years. It crosses all lines of color and is rooted in society, culture and money.   So, my children, ‘before you cry fowl, it might be wise to see if the wolf is a person of color… or something much deeper in our psyche that has its beginnings in – the Middle East.’  History lesson 101.

Confederate Flag – justice vs forgiveness

The Civil War, The Confederate Flag, Pearl Harbor, Bolsheviks, Henry VIII – a common theme…

Sometimes morality and legality become intertwined. I was recently debating the issue with a lawyer friend of mine. She was talking about the legal ramifications of property that has been stolen/confiscated and when it should and should not be a legal concern. Property taken by the Nazi’s from the Jews during WWII is considered property of the Jewish people. But property taken from the Greeks by the Romans or British – is not.

Why?

If property is stolen as in a spoil of war should the law return the property no matter the time that has lapsed?

When we talk about the American Civil War we zoom in on the the cause and effects and make an arbitrary determination that a flag is symbolic of slavery because it was the succession flag of the Confederates. From a biblical point of view, this would make the flag somewhat of an ‘idol’. As though burning it will change the heart.

Some of the more vocal Hollywooders try to liken Confederacy with Nazism. I suppose that makes Merkel = to Hitler and Putin = to Stalin and Obama = Idi Amin. Should all Italians be punished as descendants of Nero and his depravity? Should all Japanese be likened to Admiral Yamamoto who successfully attacked Pearl Harbor? Should all men be caned for their enslaving of women for centurries? Should all Jews be responsible for the Communist Bolshevik slaughter of the Russian Tzar and his entire family including children?

At what point do we – let it be? Do we put a legal time limit on forgiving – say forty years?

My friend’s point in allowing the return of Nazi spoils but not allowing the return of British spoils of Greek antiquity was that legal chaos would ensue as battle upon battle vied for property rights that were thousands of years old. I see her point, but then in legal terms we would need to put an absolute time limit on the return of property – and by moral right – a legal time limit on holding grudges.

The American Civil War was 150 years ago. It’s history has been written and rewritten, erased and rewritten probably nearly as many times as the years that have passed. Given that the flag of the US represents the slaughter of American Indians, should we abolish it? Should the British burn their flag because it represents a history rife in war, immorality, beheadings, and misery? Should we ban all ancient Roman symbols because they can relate to the atrocities of Nero?

Should we demand that the Japanese, the Germans, the Austrians, the Koreans, the Vietnamese, the Mexicans all create new flags? Will that change their hearts? Where is the defining line?

At what point is Stalin history? Is Henry the VIIIth forgotten? Sweden and Norway were still beheading people into the twentieth century, do we let it go or do we demand submission?

While forgiveness is a form of letting go, it is also a form of moving forward, taking responsibility, and striving to make sure what happened, never happens again. We can’t do that if we keep using the past as justification for bitterness. Surely, the demented boy who shot the church goers while in service was heinous! But that boy should be convicted as one – not a race. It is no different than convicting all blacks every time a black person robs, attakcs, or executes another. The mistake is repeated but now in a grandly hypocritical way. To put so much value in a symbol, an idol, a flag, will do nothing but create a new rage of injustice. It is merely shifting the target, the cause, the source, and giving it a new breath.

The Confederate flag may be gone from our history, but slavery has simply morphed and grown exponentially. Perhaps a better focus would be on this heinous cancer of sexual slavery that is allowed to be perpetrated on children of all colors, ages, sizes, genders and class. Perhaps the indignation needs to refocus on what is truly the largest and most perverse injustice today. Not some silly flag – not some overgrown prickly agenda, but on the crime of life.

Maybe holding on to an injustice is something like saving a portion of your meal, putting it in the refrigerator to preserve as leftovers, but eventually finding the food spoils, and soon rots, growing mold and decay from what was once something rather good. Justice is good when properly employed, but when we clutch it with a feverish vengeance, it rots.

We don’t forget – we move on – before our hearts suffer the same consequence and rot, decay and mold.
