Colorado Animas River Sludge – An EPA Budget in Perpetuity

I can not believe what I am hearing on the media about the Colorado Orange sludge. The EPA would have us believe that everything is fine, the water has returned to contaminated levels pre-sludge and that if we want it cleaned up, because there is no more superfund money, Colorado taxpayers will have to ante up and foot the bill!

To add to the fray, Governor Hickenlooper drank a hefty glass of iodine treated water from the river and touted that everything was ‘normal’… to your health! Sante!  “C’mon little kiddies, drink up!”

Really! Even the EPA thought that was incredibly irresponsible. Who are these people?

This mine was closed over 100 years ago and now we as Colorado taxpayers are going to ante up to clean up the mess the mine made while the owners of the mine have no responsibility and the EPA claims they have no money? What happened to the mine? The company, Premier Cobalt Central Mines Company out of Canada went into receivorship in 1911, so I guess that about let’s them off the hook. But the EPA is responsible for unplugging the proverbial dyke, so shouldn’t they be responsible to clean it up?

Legally, if it hadn’t been the EPA running over the plug, if it had been a private company, who would be responsible then?

In the meantime, the EPA announces it may take ‘years’ to evaluate the harm to human, animal, aquatic, bird and environmental damage.  Lots of reports…

Apparently, the EPA says it’s Superfund is broke, they have no more money and therefore actual cleanup isn’t possible. Besides, after conducting a typical five to ten year study, and another ten years of creating government reports on the findings, chances are the public will have long forgotten and the cleanup will simply fade into the sunset.  Ta-Ta~

But wait, it gets better! Who plugged the mine in the first place? The EPA. They plugged the mine in 2014 with the hopes of building a ‘large concrete bulkhead’ in 2015. In other words, the plug was a temporary fix. Engineers knew that the plug would eventually explode with the pressure of water that was building inside. Hence they needed approval for ‘special funding’ to build a bulkhead at a cost of upwards of $1.7 million.

Construction for the bulkhead was supposed to commence July 2015 with a completion date of September 2015. Before the spill the EPA stated, “there are NO fish in the Animas River below Cement Creek for approximately two miles and observed precipitous declines in fish populations as far as 20 miles downstream.” (Drink up Hickenlooper).  The river was already toxic, it just didn’t turn orange. Construction on the bulkhead was underway when the sub-contractor decided to test water levels and blockage at the Gold King Mine. Oops – and it’s history from there.

The mine has been undergoing ‘a form of cleanup‘ for years, but it’s not really working, it’s actually an ongoing cleanup operation of perpetuity. So far it has cost $100 million and the river still couldn’t sustain fish upstream. You see, the solution isn’t really a solution at all, it is another type of plug, a water treatment facility that continues to churn and work to clean the constant flow of pollution and heavy metals. And that’s the rub for the residents. An expensive band-aide.

Meanwhile, the EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy, has stopped all work on all mines across the country, has refused to visit the site claiming the 55 mile drive is ‘too far’, and has stated that the sludge of the Animas is back to the same polluted levels it was before the spill. But even that doesn’t portray the entire picture.

According to a document released by the EPA September 2014, they claim the Animas River pollution increased dramatically after the EPA installed three bulkheads in the Sunnyside Mine System. The build up of flows at the Red and Bonita Mine, the Mogul Mine and the Gold King Mine increased dramatically after the bulkheads were installed at Sunnyside. This would indicate that the bulkhead solution simply ‘moves’ the buildup somewhere else which they acknowledged in their report of the potential failure of the Red and Bonita bulkhead!

Prior to the sludge, the EPA stated that conditions exist for, “actual or potential exposure to nearby human populations, animals or the food chain from hazardous substances or pollutants or contaminants.” from the mine and that a cost of remediation was expected to be $1,710,000 such cost to be born by the Regional Removal Allowance. Signed David Ostrander, Director.

A regional allowance allows for a statutory limit of $2 million for a cleanup unless a Regional Administrator approves emergency actions up to $6 million… Gina McCarthy is the Regional Administrator. How much Gina?

So what we have is a solution that isn’t a solution at all but a diversion. We have a river that will never be clean of toxins and heavy metals. And we have the EPA, a government organization who earns its annual budget diverting pollutants to new sites, to plug, to divert to new sites – to plug… thereby assuring they will always be awarded the budgets – in perpetuity.

How’s that workin’ for ya?”

Black Lives – “Burn Everything Down”!

With Hillary lagging in the Polls behind Sanders, spending most of her media time defending herself against a boatload of accusations, where is Soros? Given he is her preeminent backer, what happens if she continues her downward spiral? Will Soros shift his weight?

Actually, he hasn’t given up – yet. In fact, the nouveau organization, Black Lives Matter, is working in front of the camera that is operated by Soros behind the scenes. Taking Sanders off stage at events, the organization is literally stealing the mike and the stage to support their own agenda. Stealing, because they didn’t pay for the event. And while they state on their website that they are not politically motivated… they are funded by George and Alexander Soros, Beyonce and Jay Z – very political headaches.

Given that they are NOT political, it is interesting that they have garnered the support of the White House when they only began as a slogan just 2 years ago. Quite a hefty rise to fame in such a short period of time – for a non-political organization…

What have they accomplished? Well, they like to send incendiaries to spike protests across the nation and help to create chaos and anger wherever they descend. At a recent takeover of a conference in Phoenix in July, the head of Black Lives Matter shouted, “Burn everything down”!

Personally, I don’t see how this attitude will make people think you aren’t anything but radical, tyrannical, terrorizing and brutal. Not exactly the impression that espouses your agenda… just sayin’ –

Who else is funding the Black Lives organization? A company called Resource Generation who state as their goal the coming together of young activists and young money for the purpose of making social change. But if they are not political, why do they continually target political events? Bernie Sanders, O’Malley and Jeb Bush were the most recent. Hillary was left unscathed as she met briefly with a few members ‘after’ her own rally had concluded. An obvious setup.

Their tactics are disruption, not exactly filled with solutions or ideas or much of anything with substance. But the tactics are similar to the chaos that Soros continues to infuse as a means of dismembering a country. And interestingly, these tactics are supported by the Soros blog, Think Progress.

What do they want?

They want police reform – but they also seem to want a public affirmation of the police brutality toward blacks and a formal apology that they were targeted.

This would, of course, completely alienate the police force, sheriffs offices, and all other agencies tasked with defending US citizens. Are their rogue police? Definitely. So what would police reform look like? Because stepping back, as they did in Baltimore, did not keep the homicide rate among black on black populations down, in fact it rose unprecedentedly.

The demands listed on their website state: 1) the arrest of Darren Wilson for the murder of Michael Brown, 2) redress of systemic pattern of racial discrimination… 3) demilitarization of law enforcement 4) the release of the names of ALL officers involved in shootings of blacks for the past five years and 5) a decrease in law enforcement spending with the funds redirected to the Federal departments of employment, housing and education.

Answers:

  1. won’t happen
  2. wording on website is too convoluted to say anything
  3. possible – many organizations working tirelessly on this – without burning down everything
  4. not possible – vengeance, retribution, and putting lives at risk
  5. well we saw what happened in Baltimore – an escalation of black on black murders…

If you want to use the civil rights movement of Martin Luther King Jr. as an example of what Black Lives Matter is attempting to do today there are some rather definitive differences:

  1. he was highly educated – a PhD
  2. civil rights movement was about ‘non-violent protest’
  3. King reflected, “Since being in India, I am more convinced than ever before that the method of nonviolent resistance is the most potent weapon available to oppressed people in their struggle for justice and human dignity”
  4. An ardent follower of Ghandi, King stated that, “He struggled only with the weapons of truth, soul force, non-injury and courage.”

Vengeance begets vengeance begets a cycle that has no gold ring, no end. While there is a definite problem with crime in the US, (murder rate 15k to 16k per year) be careful what you ask for, because what a non-police city looks like is two cents away from Martial Law.

China Devaluation – a global savior?

The Chinese cut the valuation of the Yuan. It was devalued by 1.9% yesterday and 1% today. So, why is this important, are they a demon or savior?

The yuan spiked in 1994 at 8.73 and remained level for about eleven years until 2005. Since then, the government has used devaluation to stabilize it’s market and stimulate growth. And by all accounts, it has worked. China’s economy has burgeoned, and investors around the world have reaped the rewards. So why all the hubbub? It’s certainly not the first time…

The US has placed pressure on China numerous times when the threat of a currency war seemed real. From 2009 through 2010, China allowed appreciation, allowed depreciation, and then agreed on a settlement value. But in 2013, a new player in the war emerged as Japan sought to devalue its currency in order to encourage a better export market. In 2014 it was Germany and in 2015 it was the European Central Bank.

Each time, the rhetoric surrounding the devaluation depends on the global reputation of the country (friend or foe) more than anything relevant. China is perceived as a bad guy and thus when they commit the same move in the currency game, the world cries foul!

But someone was playing the China market, there were rumors of manipulation, then the gold market was hit, again rumors of manipulation given China is heavily invested in gold. Were there forces trying to bring down China’s economy? Perhaps. And perhaps the government saw the next play as a potential Soros styled currency devaluation. Maintaining control would then be imperative. A controlled devaluation cut Soros out of the picture – quickly and succinctly. Baddaboom!

In addition, there are a multitude of outside factors to consider: the decision by China to allow Russia to trade in rubles instead of dollars, the collaboration of Russia, India, China and most of South America, the demand that China be placed in the monetary basket of currencies with US, Japan, Korea and Euro. Add to the mix reports of high supply of oil, more to come as Iran sanctions are lifted, hence lower oil prices, and you have a country that is adjusting to the new global economy.

While the dollar has been strong, US exports have fallen sharply in the last year and could see even greater pressure with the devaluation of the Yuan. So what are we doing?

In a Whitehouse report submitted December 9, 2010, Obama stated that he will achieve the goal of, “Creating Jobs and Growth by Doubling Exports by the End of 2014: Already, the Obama Administration’s efforts to boost trade and exports are producing results. The U.S. remains on pace to double exports, continuing to exceed the 15% annual growth rate required to reach the President’s goal by 2014.”

So let’s take a looksee:

united-states-exports

Nope. October 2014 to March 2015 saw a rollercoaster downhill ride. And our current account to GDP is -2.4%.

So why are we upset? Because the China move will not help elevate Obama out of the rut and in fact may deepen it. What is the US doing to increase exports? They are using as a time frame the low point in the curve compared to the slight increase to create a statistical sample. The same statistical manipulation we continually see as time frames are utilized to create a false truth.

As in the White House report, if exports create jobs, declining exports cost jobs. Who is laying off? Chevron, Disney, Shell, A&P, AmericanExpress, Amazon, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Microsoft, Intel, Novant Health, Blue Cross, to name just a few.  Who stands to lose most from the devaluation? Automobile makers and chip makers.

But in the greater picture is China’s move a bad one? No. China’s export and import markets had both declined by over 8%. Their role in the global economy is a link to stability.  If their economy were to track down, we would all likely follow. And then we’d be blaming them for not doing something proactive…

Police Violence – a racial story?

Police violence. Racial statistics.  Poverty – and chaos.  Who is to blame?  What is to blame?

In 2015 there have been 2 police officers that died in the line of duty in Maryland. There have been 200 homicides in Baltimore so far this year. The cause of deaths; shooting victim, stabbing victim, double homicide, homicide-suicide, triple shooting. Of the 200, there was one by police – Freddie Gray.

How come no one is protesting the 199 homicides?

More stats: of the 60 unarmed shootings by police this year in the US, 24 were black men, representing 40%. So who are the other 36? A total of 585 people were shot and killed by police this year – 525 armed. According to the Washington Post, most of those killed were white or Hispanic. Where is that uproar?

Statistics are a powerful thing, when used carelessly, they can fuel chaos rather than provide valuable and needed information. And while ‘profiling’ receives a bad name, it is a valuable tool used by all law enforcement agencies.  Mainstream media join the bandwagon and create a chart which details the rate of blacks killed by police vs whites – per 100,000. But if the blacks represent only 13% of the US population then the chart is misleading. Of course it is, but the truth doesn’t always make for the better – story.

A better chart would be the profile of who is committing the violent crimes – compared to who is being killed.

According to the FBI, in 2013 52% of all murders were committed by blacks who represent 13% of the population. Of the victim to offender ratio; 62% of violent crimes were blacks against blacks. Of all violent crimes between 2012 and 2013, whites were the victims 63% of the time and the offender 42% of the time.

There is a disparity. But we can analyze statistics all day and regroup, play with the numbers, point fingers and do more reports. We can have our government create a team or committee to evaluate all the numbers and maybe produce a report in 2020. But what is accomplished?

A much more valuable statistic should be – why? Does poverty create killers?

If you recall, it was our esteemed government’s representative, Marie Harf, who claimed the reason ISIS exists is because of poverty. That all these folks need is a good job and then they won’t terrorize any longer, was her conclusion.

With a murder rate in the US of roughly 15,000 to 16,000 per year, maybe Marie Harf should get on the ball and create jobs for those in poverty in the US… According to the Census Bureau, the poverty rate for those between the ages of 18 and 64 was 13.6% in 2013, which translates to roughly 42.5 million.

What makes for poverty?

The argument of late is the statistics on Asians. They have the highest median income in the US, the lowest crime rate, the highest marriage rate, and the highest education rate. The bottom line? Education and family create the perfect anti-poverty statistic. In the early years, education is the product of family – the respect begins at the beginning. And sorry Hillary, mandatory Preschool will NOT foster higher education. Period.

Mandatory Kindergarten has absolutely no impact on higher education stats. Both are precursors to the state raising your children, indoctrinating your children with state mandated morality and ethics, and with state mandated ideals. The Fall of Family is the common correlation that has contributed to poverty which in turn contributes to crime. If we attack the root of the problem instead of adding to the misery with entitlements, we have a chance to knock down the poverty, the crime, and the profiling. But if all we do is spout numbers and percentages, we have done nothing.

Who is responsible to ‘do’ something about poverty? The government. That’s their job. Who is responsible to re-create a viable family unit? The people. That’s their job. Making it a race issue only infuses hatred, creates a false blame, and does absolutely nothing to resolve the problem.

You want to point the finger?  Destroying a city will not create wealth…  and as we stand by, Baltimore is basically one step away from Martial Law and they don’t even know it.  Just Saying –

Planned Parenthood: Sterilization and Racial Cleansing

Forced sterilization and ethnic cleansing define the business plan created by Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood!

Margaret Sanger, was a proponent of Eugenics, the belief that the weaker vessels must not be allowed to birth and thus muddy the supremacy of the perfect race.  Should they allow their loose morality to cause them to get pregnant, abortion was the only means of righting the wrong.  Sterilization would be the punishment, whether elective or a consequence.  Decades later, contraception  became the focus with Enovid, a pill that had dire side effects including, death.

Reading her ideals, one might falsely assume her pen was ruled by the doctrines and ideology of Adolph Hitler.

“They are…human weeds, reckless breeders, spawning… human beings who never should have been born.”

“Birth control is nothing more or less than…weeding out the unfit.”

“Knowledge of birth control is essentially moral. Its general, though prudent, practice must lead to a higher individuality and ultimately to a cleaner race.”

“Instead of decreasing and aiming to eliminate the stocks that are most detrimental to the future of the race and the world, it tends to render them to a menacing degree dominant … We are paying for, and even submitting to, the dictates of an ever-increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.”

She speaks of the negro population, of immigrants, of anyone she deems an inferior race who must not be allowed to breed because such breeding only fills the world with a defective race of sub-humans. As such, she worked tirelessly to destroy life through abortion and sterilization projects. To keep the population cleansed of the abominations.

In other words, the stated purpose of Planned Parenthood was – Ethnic Cleansing.

Married to a radical marxist/socialist jewish man, it was his influence that propelled her to atheism, population control, birth control and eugenics. She was instrumental in the Negro Project in which Sanger utilized black clergy and black doctors to help appeal to the race in order to succeed in mass sterilization.  A feminist and a socialist dabbling in the occult, her birth control clinic was funded by the Rockefeller family.

She believed in the creation of a thoroughbred race, one that was without defect, one of genetic superiority, white, and cleansed of all potential disease and inferior qualities. In the 1950’s Sanger met Dr. Pincus who was working on reproductive and infertility in animals. Sanger encouraged Pincus to create what would become The Pill, a contraceptive against pregnancy. Planned Parenthood didn’t have enough money to fund the Pincus’ project and so Sanger solicited a friend, Katherine McCormick, a wealthy suffragist whose husband’s brother had married into the Rockefeller family.

Human trials were conducted on women from Haiti, Mexico and Puerto Rico where the governments turned a blind eye to any ‘mistakes’, side effects or deaths that might ensue.   Side effects included nausea and vomiting to such extent discontinuance was required (affected population –  25%), edema, weight gain, changes in thyroid and adrenal function, thyroditis, toxicosis, hair loss, dermatitis, jaundice, chloasma, toxemia of pregnancy syndrome, While Enovid was taken off the market in 1988, its long term effects and death rates have been deleted from most of Google.

Her birth control project was considered the most powerful in the world impacting Europe, China, Japan, India, Korea, and Singapore. Her eugenics and sterilization projects were adopted by Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and – Nazi Germany.

And while today Planned Parenthood provides some medical procedures outside of abortion and sterilization, Sanger abhored the idea stating that the provision of medical and nursing facilities to the slum mothers was insidiously injurious. Utilizing statistics of white vs black birth rates, she was able to garner political support as she claimed the survival and domination of the white race was being significantly threatened.  President Roosevelt supported the idea and government funding became the backdrop.

While history has been somewhat rewritten to laud the efforts of this woman in fostering women’s rights, her motives were far less than her depiction and what the media slaves might have us envision. Her goal was the eradication of a great number of undesirables who she felt did not deserve life. She advocated that women should be free to explore sexuality without the ‘consequence’ of pregnancy. Despite some articles which attempt to elevate her motherly instincts, she abandoned her own children, sent them off to boarding schools, gave their care to her aunt and husband and generally had little involvement in their lives. Her true agenda ultimately became the sexual immorality that contraception and abortion advocated and how she might partake of this freedom.

Before WWII, her appeal was quite well observed, however after WWII comparisons to Hitler and the Nazi’s became problematic. As a result, the name of her organization was changed from The American Birth control League, to Planned Parenthood. And while Planned Parenthood makes the claim that most of their income is generated from health services, including mammograms – it has recently been revealed that too is false. Only a spattering of facilities provide ‘some’ health services, and none provide mammograms, those are out-sourced.

The history of Planned Parenthood and it’s morality today have changed little.  It’s purpose and ethic remain.

Alone, addicted to alcohol and painkillers, Margaret Sanger died a bitter old woman.

Trump Trumped – Two

Good Grief and Gravy Charlie Brown, blocking Donald Trump from events is a pretty ridiculous move. First, it makes him a victim, second, it gives him victim press coverage, third, it always makes headlines, fourth, it makes the accuser appear childish, bullying and vindictive.

And while some comments by Trump may be viewed as ‘crossing the line’, etiquette is not exactly the mark of presidential ads or rhetoric. The mud is a slinging, the mud is slung, let the comments settle with the voters, not the press. Because the press is supposed to be immune, trained not to take things personally, and if a reporter pushes a personal agenda with a candidate, then that reporter opens the can for retribution/rebuttal.

The reason voters like Trump is exactly because of his in-your-face I-don’t-give-a-dang-about-political-correctness attitude! And any reporter knows that going into the fray. If you don’t want to be criticized or on the defensive, then don’t debate with him. If you don’t want back atchya retorts, don’t start with questions that have nothing to do with the economy, politics or taxes.

In an environment in which the people have little faith in the honesty of the media, where the media is on the defensive because they are called out time and again for scholocky tactics, messy investigations, half truths and bias, don’t expect – respect!

And while Trump may not have a clue about foreign relations, no one thinks Obama does either and that certainly didn’t stop him from getting elected. You are missing the entire theater performance – it isn’t about anything but being honest – and sometimes that can be brutal. After six+ years of lies, deceit, disinformation, misinformation, censorship and bias, I think the people want anyone who can just tell the truth for a change.

Fiorina is fresh and astute and comes across as an honest candidate. But she gets no press because she isn’t entertainment. Trump is. Hillary looks like Mrs. Doubtfire without the soft voice and compassionate heart. There is no charisma. Bill got elected based on charisma. Bush is so soft spoken people will nod off. And Waters World – ask people what was discussed at the latest debate and no one will remember – it just wasn’t that important. In fact, it was so unimportant, the media has even forgotten. There was no mainstream headline discussing the topics – only the entertainment quality.

And while people will dig up all kinds of dirt on Trump, I’m not sure even that matters any longer. I mean we excuse the most horrific mud that I can’t imagine what is considered too heinous. Look no further than some of our founding fathers:

Thomas Jefferson accused President Adams of having a hermaphroditical character.

John Adams’ camp called Vice President Jefferson mean-spirited, claimed he had multiple mistresses and that he was the son of a half-breed Indian squaw.

Reagon was called “Ray-gun”.

Andrew Jackson was called a cock-fighter and his wife was ridiculed for being really fat.

It is only the beginning and already some of the media are crying foul… Really?  Have you had your head in the sand for ALL previous elections or what…  Just sayin’ –

EPA Contaminated Colorado River to Toxic Orange

Exactly how does it happen that during an investigation into pollutants at an abandoned mine in Colorado, the EPA inadvertently ‘pulled a plug’ that was deterring waste from entering the Animas River, thus allowing one million gallons of toxic metals including, zinc, copper and iron flood into the river unabated?

The orange sludge is now travelling down river without any restraint whatsoever. Boaters are obviously told to avoid the river as the toxicity is deadly, farmers are told to halt any watering, and residents are told their water supply is contaminated.

Gee – sorry…

Within a day the sludge had travelled from the Mine in Silverton to Durango. And while they are still ‘evaluating’ the fish death and the related inevitable deaths that will occur to wildlife that rely on the water, I don’t think a lot of people will be so anxious to eat a fish laden with 1 million gallons of toxic mine waste. The water is glowing!

Pish-posh, says the EPA, the water was already dirty anyway…

The Animas River is 126 miles long, flows into the San Juan River in New Mexico which feeds the Colorado River in Utah. Eco reports have long concluded that the tailings are deadly to all fish, migratory birds, animals, vegetation and invertebrates. The risk for humans is most grave for children.

Mines of this sort are mostly found in the middle of what is – or once was – beautiful forest land with bubbling brooks and pristine rivers. Deer, antelope, bunnies, that sort of thing.  Regulations are routinely not adhered to, waste is fed into the rivers and streams, the toxicity levels kill off the fish and wildlife, and the mine tops out it’s useful life and shuts down leaving gaping holes, razed land and – pollution.

In a study done by the EPA, the Iron Mountain mine in Redding, California was given the dubious honor of being the largest source of surface water pollution in the entire United States. It is now a ‘superfund’ site, meaning it was granted special cleanup status and remediation. Twenty years of cleanup and it’s 95% done.

In reading the proposed 2016 budget for the EPA, it sounds like a presidential campaign: $8.6 billion “to be used in addressing climate change and improving air quality, protecting our water, safeguarding the health and safety of the public from toxic chemicals, supporting the environmental health of communities, and working toward a sustainable environmental future for all Americans.”

As of 2014 there were 1322 superfund sites with an additional 53 proposed. Until the mid 1990’s a tax imposed on chemical and petroleum industries was supposed to cover the cost of remediation. As of 2003, the fund had depleted it’s entire reserve of $6 billion and today, the party that caused the pollution is responsible to pay for the cleanup. If the party is gone, lost, adios, then the money is appropriated by Congress from the General Fund.

Here is an example of how it might work: In 1989, the EPA conducted an investigation and found Lockheed Martin in Colorado to have groundwater contaminants including TCE and NDMA. TCE affects the developmental and neurological systems. It is considered a carcinogenic causing substance related to kidney cancer, liver cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and various tumors in animals. NDMA is considered ‘highly’ toxic to the liver even in small doses. Death occurs within a matter of two weeks – or less. Symptoms include liver failure within 24 hours, rapidly declining platelet count, fever, vomiting, intradermal hemorrhage, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, coma, pulmonary fibrosis and then death.

In 1999, ten years after the EPA identified Lockheed, they produced their own internal report which showed 53 separate contaminated sites on their property. Another investigation of the external assessment of the toxicity was done in 2000. That report found no ‘public threat’.

Additional studies were conducted in 2002, 2004 and 2005. In 2012, the Air Force presented the EPA with a ‘cleanup plan’. The EPA conducts five year reviews after the cleanup to determine if in fact there is any residual contamination. For this particular site, no five year reviews are ‘required’. There is no stated reason why. The site is still in cleanup mode 26 years after the initial EPA designation.

So given the EPA is responsible for this cleanup in Colorado…how long will it take?

California Wildfires – 90% Human Caused

While the California wildfires appear to be a mainstay, perhaps we have come to believe it has always been so, when actually, it hasn’t. Again, conventional media outlets report on drought as the cause, or global warming. But the facts prove this to be a misnomer and a gross misrepresentation of the Truth. And while CNN does not outright state that the recent fires were due to the drought, the inference is that the drought is the culprit and that lightening is the secondary charge.

Other reporters are not so deceptive. Environmentalists and environmental scientists would claim that the droughts and rising temperatures are the major culprits of fires. But their data field is based on a 10-30 year time frame for creating averages. And that is the obvious fault-line that makes the data corrupt.

NBC reported on the current conditions as though lightening was the major culprit without even mentioning human error at all. This leaves people with the impression that they can do nothing. That it is beyond their control. When in fact, it is most decidedly the opposite. This is not just misleading reporting – it is very dangerous reporting because it fails to put the fear where fear belongs!

A quick look at history and we find an unprecedented rise in the number of major fires across California beginning in the decade of the 1980’s. Since, then, each successive decade proves more and more voluminous.

Major California Fires:

In the 1800’s a century of time produced five fires. From 1910 to 1920 there were two fires. From 1920 to 1930 there were four. From 1930 to 1940 there were three. In the 1940’s there were 4, 1950’s there were 6, 1960’s – 8 and 1970’s – 8. Then it all changed dramatically. The 1980’s saw 13 fires, the 1990’s saw 26, between 2000 and 2010 there were 40 reported fires. And this decade is not even to the halfway point and there have been 30 major fires.

So, no this is not a natural phenomena at all. This is not a defined norm for California. This shows an unprecedented phenomenal increase!

A comparison to drought would give no common indicator. During the same time period as above, the worst drought decades were 1930 to 1940 and 1950 to 1960. There were 3 and 6 respective major fires during these decades of extreme drought.

Droughts – Past Century:

Average_Drought_Conditions_in_the_Contiguous_48_States,_1895-2011

So what is really ‘fueling’ these fires?

According to National Geographic, the root cause of fires is not drought or lightening, it is human. In fact the causes can be anything from weird to creepy as in: a fallen power line, sparks from a weed eater, campfire left untended, and a satanic ritual. While weather can spread the flame, the cause more often than not is a gnarly finger that points back to ‘us’.

The largest fire in US history was the result of a small contained fire in the hold of a docked freighter in Texas. The problem? The freighter was carrying 2300 tons of ammonium nitrate fertilizer which exploded and ‘leveled’ over 1000 buildings and left 600 people dead including the entire volunteer fire department. The fire rapidly caused a chain reaction hitting chemical plants and refineries.

However, it isn’t just human error – but arson that has rippled the number of fires hitting California and elsewhere. Some estimates put the number of arson related fires at 20%. According to the US National Park Service, the total number of human caused fires is upwards of 90%!

So, what can YOU do?

Be more alert. Be more pro-active. Don’t smoke and casually toss your cigarette butt. Be diligent about putting out campfires. Keep fire extinguishers and hoses available should you accidentally ignite. Fire is not a toy to play with. Fire kills everything – trees, homes, animals, and people. And lastly, REPORT anything no matter how small or trivial it may seem.

Amnesty International Shame!

Amnesty International wants to legalize prostitution.

Who is Amnesty International? First, their stated objective is “…to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights and to demand justice when those rights have been abused.” But a sub-text incorporated in the reports is to push for sexual rights, including abortion. In addition there are two distinct legal entities; the organization which is an NGO, not a charity, and the Charitable Trust which funnels money to the organization.

Within the UK Charitable Trust – 60% of it’s expenditures are for ‘research’, 17% are spent to generate income, and just 17% is used to promote human rights. Their largest Donor, Comic Relief Charity, has been embroiled in their own scandals including the charge that they were investing donor contributions in tobacco, alcohol – and arms while promoting alcohol abstinence and anti-war rhetoric. Their ballooning wage cost now accounts for 76.5% of their total annual budget! As a result, the Charity decided to make it’s reports – less transparent.

Amnesty’s stated interest in legalizing prostitution is to provide health care availability for ‘sex workers’. But health care is available to everyone whether you are a prostitute or not, it’s called socialized medicine and Obamacare. Their other stated reasoning is to claim that sex is an inalienable right and making prostitution illegal infringes that right.

But how is this a “grave abuse of human right”? Who are they really trying to protect?

Founded in 1961 by Peter Bennenson, a Jewish man, he stepped down due to ill health in 1964. By 1966, Mr. Bennenson claimed Amnesty had been infiltrated by British Intelligence and asserted improper conduct by members of the executive. An investigation ensued that shattered Amnesty’s reputation. Bennenson resigned and new executives were named.

The British Newspaper, The Observer, recently made the following statement about the new Secretary General of the organization, an Indian, Salil Shetty:

…the situation caused by Shetty’s sacking of staff working on core issues such as women’s rights and the death penalty: “Amnesty was one of 20th-century Britain’s greatest gifts to the world. Now it is a wreck.”

Amnesty Internationals reputation has a history of illegal issues, and even terrorist links according to NGO-Monitor:

Despite claims that it takes NO funding from political partioes or governments, it has received funding from the UK, The European Commission, The Netherlands, Norway and the US.

Amnesty paid off two executives over 833,000 euros to leave the organization. A part of the payoff was absolute silence regarding the facts.

In 2103 they were found to be working with an organization whose co-founder, Abd al-Rahman bin ‘Umayr al-Nu’aymi (Nu’aymi), was accused of financing Al Qaeda and its affiliates in Syria, Iraq, Somalia and Yemen,

In 2010, anti-semitic posts on it’s Facebook page, and statements made by its executive director of Finalnd’s branch were considered in violation of its ‘unbiased status’ and could be challenged as inciting hatred.

In 2012, their crisis response manager was found to be making hate statements against Jews.

In 2010, a staff member was suspended after she made allegations that Amnesty was aligned with a Taliban supporter.

In 2015, it was revealed that an amnesty campaignor was actually a leader of Islamic Jihad. Lastly, for a number of years, Amnesty has actively campaigned against Israel and the Jewish people calling for strikes, embargo’s, tribunals and radicalism.

Amnesty International is heavily funded by George Soros.

Think Progress, a George Soros blog, is pushing the legalized prostitution agenda claiming that – “sex workers and sex advocacy groups generally support the proposal, saying decriminalization or legalization is the best way to keep sex workers safe and healthy without increasing the number of trafficked women or minors involved in the sex industry.”

Think Progress sites another organization as advocating for the decriminalization, Human Rights Watch. But this organization is also funded by Soros who initially empowered it with no less than $100 million.

So, exactly what would be accomplished by the decriminalization?

Currently there is an ongoing investigation in the UK over illegal sex trafficking that dates back for decades, involves over 1400 politicians, entertainers, sports stars and the like, and estimates the number of victims in the hundreds of thousands. While the ‘investigation’ gets little press coverage, if prostitution were to suddenly become legal, what happens to the case? Would they be exonerated because prostitution is now legal?

Would sex trafficking be left to proliferate and profit as it has been shown to do in Germany since they legalized prostitution?

Bill Clinton has been named in the sex trafficking allegations charged against Epstein. If prostitution is legalized, what happens to those allegations?

If prostitution is legalized, is rape also? What happens to all the illegal and underage sex trafficking, do those boys and girls lose their right to protest their slavery? Will perpetrators, pimps and the like simply assert everything was consensual? Will the entire burgeoning industry be immune as prosecution becomes too difficult? And will children and stolen slaves be the silent victims?

Contrary to the whitewash, the illegal sex trafficking involves sex slavery, it involves underage children, and it is heinous. In the US alone, estimates put the number of children at over 300,000. Pimps generate $150,000-$200,000 per child – the younger, the more money. It’s a multi billion dollar business, and I imagine there are a lot of wealthy CEO’s, politicians, and entertainers that would love a piece of the action – physically and financially. Making it legal, gives them peace of mind. And relieves them of the hefty cost of bribery.

The US government estimates that 2-4 million people are victims of sex trafficking annually. Of those, 50% are children. Drugs are used to manipulate and confine. The average age of victims is 11-14. And lets be real. Victims are subject to HIV, drug addiction, rectal trauma, sleeping disorders, psychological disorders, fear, depression, guilt, shame, ptsd, death, threat of family harm, and the list goes on and on!

This is not the happy hooker portrayed by Amnesty, Human Rights Watch and Think Progress! This is a means of protecting the perpetrators and generating a profound increase in victims. SHAME!

FOOD CRISIS

Food. Crisis. This is the underlying buzz that gets modest media attention.

Headlines: Syrian refugee’s Overwhelm World Food Bank, UN Cuts Food to Syrian Refugees, Cash Strapped World Food Program…

Maybe we read the headline, but then most will scroll down without clicking the article. It’s not in our backyard, or is it?

Nearly a million Palestinians in Israel get food aid. Four million Syrian refugee’s in Jordan get food aid. According to World Food Program, 41 countries in Africa get food aid, 10 in South America, 6 in the Middle East and 17 in Asia. So far this year, 7 months, contributions by governments to just this one agency amounted to $2.5 billion. Some notable countries that were not on the list for 2015 include; Israel, Saudi Arabia, China, Austria, Poland, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, and Iraq. And while some countries made attempts to contribute despite their own economic woes, one country didn’t even make the list of 101 as making a contribution at all for the past five years – Israel.

The US contributed nearly half the entire aid at $1.06 billion.

But the US program has fault lines that ravage the actual aid in red tape and bureaucracy. According to OXFAM, 59 cents of every dollar we spend goes to middlemen. In addition, the time frame to get food to the need takes 4-6 months.

But there is an even more grave hitch in this entire avalanche of need. Many of the countries receiving food aid are victims of foreign land grabs. The remainder are mostly refugees, people who will never climb out of refugee status and will forever be on the list living inc amps, living in squalor. These 51.6 million refugees are typically the product of regime change civil war and include those residing outside the country in camps and those remaining inside in destitution. Afghanistan stands at 5 million, Syria at 19.6 million, Sudan 5.5 million, South Sudan 4.5 million, Nigeria at 2.5 million, and Yemen has now topped over 1 million as a result of bombing this year.

The ideology used to be the quote; “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” The problem? There is no backdoor revenue to be had if you teach a man to take care of himself. The revenue is generated in man’s dependence. It is the same ideology used in the US with Social Entitlements. And still the people take it because they haven’t any other offer.

After WWII, job training was a primary government focus. Today the focus is on creating a new poverty that will create a burgeoning industry to create unsurpassed wealth.

While the US and G-7 Members advocate heavily for land grabbing as a means of feeding the poor, sixty percent of the African land grabs produce cash crops that are exported. The labor is dirt cheap, and the profits exponential. The African that once fished for himself is now on food aid. A vicious cycle that gets little attention because everyone wants on the bandwagon – even the media.

Still the stories predict nothing but gloom for the future. While many focus on global warming as the culprit, the obvious is left unsaid; most of the land grabs do NOT produce crops that will put a dent to food shortages, instead they produce crops that are a by-product of fuel. We are taking what used to be partially sustainable land and recreating it for fuel production thereby worsening the FOOD CRISIS. But the Land Grabs are not just in Africa – they are here, now, in the United States!

The Swiss Bank, UBS, has buying up large swathes of land in Wisconsin, Mississippi, Mountain West and Georgia. An investment firm, Gladstone Land Corp is buying up swathes of farmland in Michigan.

Add to the volatile mix Monsanto, who leaves behind a trail of death as it’s pesticides make the soil untenable for new crops and growth, and the food crisis roils ever faster to an implosion. The picture is grim. It crosses lines of Republican and Democrat alliances, it sees international investors in bidding wars.  Even Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin is trying to jump on the bandwagon and open up farmland to more international investors.

But the consequences will be dire.  These are not long term ingrained farmers with knowledge passed from generation to generation on how best to cultivate the land, rotate crops and consume with a plan for the future.  These are conglomerates bent on razing the land to get the most the fastest with no thought for anything but the ‘now’.  And we, all of us, will be the victims this time.
