Having owned a child care facility licensed for 72 for a period of 15 years, and having raised three boys without ever putting them in child care, I decided that gives me some insight into this Daycare vs Home Care debate festering like an infected wound.
First: The ‘up- to’ $9,000 credit is based on income and per child. Thus, it is yet another Welfare Program. A Subsidy. A Socialist construct. A SNAP program. And like all welfare programs it will by the very nature of America be – rife with fraud! The concept is that the money will come from the $12 Billion already subsidizing daycare. So, Daycares will lose their subsidies and Middle Class moms will pay MORE because they need to work to pay the bills! But the welfare credit will be poorly run, and every year the cost will cumulatively rise to meet the level of fraud.
We already have HeadStart. This is a government run program to provide free daycare for moms on welfare or in training for a job. Once in a job, the mom is transferred to the State Social Services system which gives daycares a subsidy payment based on the mom’s monthly income. If the mom’s income is over the threshold by even 5cents – she can lose her entire subsidy. Given blacks account for the vast majority of single moms raising kids, they will not qualify for the 2-parent subsidy that is now taking away their subsidy…
Second: Daycares are already subject to a litany of rules and regulations that are absurdistan to the nth degree! The height of stacked cots is measured. There is a list of approved disinfectants. Varied outdoor ground materials are required. Multiuse sink plans must be enforced. Space requirements. Teacher ratio’s. They are not part of the school property tax equation. Their funding comes from Moms. Teachers don’t get pensions and a litany of perks. It is a brutal business.
The entire basis for this ridiculous plan originated with JD Vance and is now a mainstream train wreck waiting to happen! People with money hire au pairs or nannies. The poor were given HeadStart and the Middle Class daycares. Why? Because of government unaffordability to stay home! Government spending which has now reached $7.5 Trillion has to be covered by taxpayers – take away taxpayers – more money is printed – more money printed its value decreases. Its value decreases – cost of living becomes unsustainable.
The narrative is that women are working and not staying home because Men are unemployed. The basis of the narrative is Polymarket. General Flynn chose to blame ‘men’ for women working. He called young men spoiled, soft hands and weak spines. He claims it is young men’s fault that women are stepping up to the plate and these men are just sitting around doing nothing but playing video games. The evidence? A Polymarket post claims without evidence that under Trump; 750,000 jobs went to women while men lost jobs.
This is how the Fake Labor Market Statistics work:
Teachers. Every year teachers leave the market in June and come back on in August. Hospitality workers are seasonal. Christmas Retail workers are seasonal. We just eliminated farm workers and many male seasonal workers permanently with deportations. Manufacturing is a net loss because we are no longer competitive. How do we know the differentiation between men and women employment statistics? Short answer – we don’t. And neither does Polymarket because it is not a statistical calculation it is a gambling arean.
ADP Payroll claims that gender breakdown of employment is not in their analytics. Total jobs added for 2025 was 398,000 – including teachers and seasonal workers who are counted twice. Total jobs added in 2026 is 549,000. The highest job creation is always – Teachers and Hospitality. The weakest is – Manufacturing.
Polymarket is NOT evidence based of anything but a person’s lack of ability to intellectualize! A ‘prediction’ market – played like craps! Throw the DICE. Crystal Balls and Ouija Boards. Making money like a Vegas Gambling Casino. And if that’s what General Flynn is wasting his time doing – then perhaps the person who needs to step to the PLATE… is him.
Throwing more welfare subsidies at the poor is not going to create ANYTHING but more welfare and a failed Middle Class. And General Flynn should apologize for blaming a PollyMarket crystal ball aimed at denigrating young men – I would be quite incensed.

Polymarket is an addictive gambling pastime – just like the video games General Flynn accused all young men of being addicted to. Only now they can win and lose money on those video games by guessing an outcome. No knowledge required.
Third. In Colorado a new home starting price averages at $650,000. Assuming you managed to save up the 20% downpayment of $130,000 CASH, your monthly principle and Interest payment would be $4400. Adding Taxes, Insurance, HOA, and Utilities – your monthly ballons to about $5800 – nearly $70,000 per year for 30 years w/o inflation. Now you add a car, a wife, a child or two, food clothes, living expenses etc… and tell me how young men and women survive unless they both work.
