To house foreigners with work permits, Singapore provides dormitories that host 12-20 men per room for a fee. More than 20 percent of Singapore’s population of 5.7 million are foreign workers, a vast majority of whom are low-wage laborers with work permits. Slave labor. Mostly from India and Bangladesh.
